ALGEBRA AND PATTERNING
TERM 2

Patterning

Picture
This part of the unit will focus on numerical patterns, sequences and creating nth term equations.

Hints we talk about include:
- looking at the term numbers
- looking at the differences between numbers in the pattern
- looking at the differences between term numbers and pattern numbers

Algebra

First term we looked at algebra with both one step and multiple steps.  Here is what we need to remember from the first term:
- using addition, subtraction, multiplication and division to isolate a variable
- performing a solve and check
- using substitution, like terms and the distributive property

Later this term we will be looking at how integers and fractions can be used in each case.
